Whole Foods East Block is a five-story, 145,150-square-foot corporate office expansion for Whole Foods Market's Austin headquarters. Designed by Gensler Austin for developer Endeavor Real Estate Group and built by DPR Construction, the 2-building structure occupies the corner of Bowie and West Fifth streets — straddling an active below-grade parking garage and undeveloped land along Shoal Creek. Core and shell construction completed in November 2021. The design stands out for its curved forms, undulating aluminum facade, and handmade terra cotta lobby details — shaped by the constraints of Austin's Capitol View Corridor height limits, downtown creek setbacks, and Atlas 14 floodplain changes.
