The Aloft Austin Downtown and Element Austin Downtown share a single 33-story tower at the corner of 7th Street and Congress Avenue, bringing 422 keys — 278 Aloft rooms and 144 Element suites — to one of downtown Austin's most prominent intersections. Designed by HKS and developed by White Lodging with DPR Construction as general contractor, the project broke ground in August 2015 and opened in July 2017. The two brands occupy the same building but serve distinct guests: Aloft targets design-conscious travelers with an urban, industrial aesthetic, while Element caters to extended-stay guests with a LEED-certified sustainability focus. Street-level dining is anchored by Caroline and its second-floor sibling, Upstairs at Caroline, both open to the public.
